1 Jorden Rundt
Billund in the South Jutland area of Denmark is mostly popular because that is where the head office of Lego is! There is also the Lego theme park, a big waterpark called Lalandia AND there is an airport!
Sounds like a great place to visit and marry and you can be sure of having lots of fun!
Billund is a mere 115km's from the German border so it will take about 1hr 30mins to drive there, slightly further away from Copenhagen at 265km's that will take about 3 hrs to drive there.
The airport serves many of the main European destinations, perfect for flying in from afar or jetting off on a wonderful break after your wedding!
Not only does Billund have all the fun stuff to do it is also steeped in history with some of its buildings dating back to 1291! A lot of the history is based on the Lego and the family with Ole Kirk Christiansen who founded the lego Group bought a furniture company as far back as 1895, he then invested in a new dairy and a church and the toy brand was born in 1930 where the first toys were manufactured from scraps from the production of this other goods (utility items), and the true brand was created in 1934 when the factory for toys only called Lego was opened.
As you would probably guess the Lego name draws in a lot of visitors, and this then in turn ensures that there are plenty of places to eat, drink, stay and entertain you during your stay!
Billund is situated right in the middle of the South Jutland region so there is lots of amazing countryside and views that surround this amazing town.
