Christiansfeld is a venue that is part of the Kolding Kommune. This is a small town, but it is stunning and really well positioned as it is 1hour drive from the German border and 2hrs 46 mins from Copenhagen.
The document presentation is held the day of the wedding in the Kommune of Kolding (unless you are marrying in Christiansfeld on a Saturday or Sunday and then it is the business day before), the ceremony itself is situated in the Søstrehuset which is the 'Sister House'.
The building built in 1776 and further expanded several times until 1881. The house covers 4000 m2. The house was originally furnished with dormitories, living rooms, workshops and a chancel, which is the city's second largest room. The interior of the house offers the special long corridors with many beautiful doors, rococo stairs and empire details, among other things. the chandeliers in the beautiful chancel.
As you enter the building you follow the lovely signs that guide you to the ceremony room!
