Sonderborg is really easy to get to from the German border - only 45km and 41mins from the German Flensburg/Danish border! Or from Copenhagen (352km's 3h 10mins) and Hamburg (202km's 2h 10 mins).  It is on the east coast of Denmark close to water which allows for beautiful scenery!

There is over 200km's of stunning coastline and this can make for some wonderful scenery and some amazing shots of your special day and make some memories that will last forever,

As with a lot of Danish towns there is a castle!  This castle, Sonderborg Castle is beautiful.  It was built in 1200 and re-built in 1550 into a renaissance 4 wing building. The castle tells the story of the area from the middle ages and the re-unification of the area with Denmark in 1920, it is really interesting and shows a wonderful insight to the area.

This venue has the bonus of  an airport in Sonderborg that can connect the town with Copenhagen and offers several flights per day from Copenhagen, Berlin, Frankfurt, Nuremburg and Stuttgart!

There is a choice in Sonderborg to marry either in the stunning town hall or in two separate hotels.   Mondays - Thursdays at Sonderborg town hall Fridays, odd Fridays at Hotel Norherredus and even Fridays at Det Gmale Radhus Both are gorgeous although different in styles.  Please take a look and see the options that are open to you.

The History & Sights of the Area

There is also “Butt Im Griff” sculpture by Günter Grass  a German Nobel Prize winner in literature and is widely regarded as Germany’s most famous living writer. Apart from being a novelist he is also a poet, playwright, illustrator, graphic artist and, as we can experience in Sonderborg, a sculptor.
