Where in Denmark can I marry?

Where in Denmark can I marry

The Agency of Family Law issues ‘permissions to marry’ to every town hall in Denmark that is valid for a period of either 4 months or the validity of any visas.

When making the application for your ceremony in Denmark we have to stipulate a town hall, once the Agency of Family Law issues the approval they will send the approval documents to that town hall.  This can be changed, however this can delay the process whilst the approved file is re-issued by the Agency of Family Law, so it is always best to think about your wedding dates and your mode of transport before making the application so we can book the appointment as soon as the approval is issued and then you can move onto the more ‘fun’ aspect of your wedding planning!

You can marry in any of the 98 town halls in Denmark.

Of course there are some town halls that we work with more than others, but any town hall is possible.

When choosing your town hall there are some questions that you must consider..

Date of the ceremony?

How you are travelling to Denmark (by car or train from the Southern border, or by plan into Copenhagen)?

What is the ‘vibe’ that you would like, city, beach or country?

You would like to present and marry on the same day or document presentation the day before is fine?

It is the job of your wedding consultant to let you know which town hall is more suitable to you that will fit your answers to the three questions.

The main town halls that we work with are

Copenhagen City Hall

Stevns Kommune

Frederiksberg Kommune

Aero Island Kommune

Kolding Kommune & Christiansfeld

Esbjerg Kommune & Ribe

However this does not mean to say that we don’t work with any other town hall, we do and we can assure you that where ever you choose you will have a wonderful time!
