Getting Married in Denmark - Lolland

Lolland is an island of Denmark located in the Baltic Sea, which is separated from southern Zealand by Smalandsfarvandet Sound. Lolland is known as the "pancake island" because of its flatness: the highest point of the entire island is 25 m (82 ft) above sea level. It is the fourth largest island of the Danish archipelago and its irregular coastline is broken by Sakskobing and Nakskov fjords.

There are forests in the north and east, and the marshy southern coastal regions are protected from flooding by sand dunes and dikes. The island’s fertile clay supports a thriving sugar-beet industry. Sugar is a major industry in Lolland and when you visit the island you will have the opportunity, to witness a large number of sugar beet fields.

The charming old town of Lolland is definitely worth a visit, there you will find a perfect mixture of both new and old buildings, where you can shop away in Nykøbing Falster, go for a stroll in the historic narrow streets of Nakskov, or go to Sakskøbing and enjoy its beautiful setting at the end of Sakskøbing Fjord.

Middelaldercentret Museum -  The Middelaldercentret Museum is a living history museum, not only are there professional shows with knight tournaments, the museum is populated by many volunteers in medieval costumes, that present what medieval life would have been like in 1398. The museum is located in Sundby Lolland- 4 km northwest of the center of Nykøbing Falster on the waterfront of Guldborgsund. It features a town built as part of a typical Danish market town with craftsmen, a harbor with ships and boats, and a market place.
